2013 DOWNTOWN EVENTS

· ART & MUSIC – APRIL 25^TH

· MAIN STREET MANIA – JUNE 20 – 22^ND

· COLLEGE NIGHT – SEPTEMBER 5^TH

· TASTE OF CHRISTMAS – NOVEMBER 7 – 9^TH

These events, coordinated by the Chamber’s Downtown Promotions Committee, are designed to bring more customers to all our downtown merchants.

MONTHLY THIRD THURSDAY DOWNTOWN EVENT

The Newton area contains so many talented artists and musicians that a number of downtown (and beyond) businesses make the effort to showcase their work every month through the Third Thursday art and music crawl. This monthly event started more than a year ago as an offshoot of the Chamber's annual Art and Music event in April.

Several local businesses began organizing this free art and music crawl every fourth Thursday, but starting in January 2013, the monthly crawl is now being held on the third Thursday each month. Most venues will be open 6 – 8 pm, with a few having longer hours. Each month you can find out what is happening at the venues by following the Facebook page for Third Thursday.

Chamber Breakfast

This month April 19, 2013 the Chamber Breakfast is sponsored by USD 373 Education Endowment.

The monthly Breakfast with the Chamber is a great opportunity to learn the latest news in the community. We have a monthly host that presents a program about their organization or services they offer. This is followed by updates from the governmental, educational and legislative sectors in the community and county.

The cost of breakfast with a reservation is $10.00, without a reservation it is $11.00. Cash, check or credit card are welcome forms of payment. If you make a reservation, you are responsible to pay even if you choose not to eat or are unable to attend. In addition, there will be a $1.00 charge for every breakfast billed. Ribbon Cuttings

Ribbon Cuttings are held for all new, newly remodeled or relocated businesses in Newton and North Newton.

Chamber After Hours

Chamber after hours are a great networking opportunity located at the sponsoring business. Chamber After Hours are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The Chamber will promote your After Hours event in the Chamber Newsletter with a business spotlight, list in the business section of the Kansan and through email communication and the events calendar.
